North State Living
Living in Orland, California
A Glenn County town with real range, from established in-town neighborhoods to rural acreage, with olive country, Black Butte Lake, and easy valley access.
Overview
Orland sits just west in Glenn County, a town with more range than people expect: established neighborhoods and downtown living alongside the olive orchards, almonds, and working land it’s known for. It fits buyers who want small-town quiet, whether that means a home in town or acreage on the edges, with easy access to Interstate 5 and the rest of the valley.
What it’s like for buyers
Orland offers everything from established in-town neighborhoods to rural acreage with room for orchards, animals, and homesteading, often at prices below Chico. Having lived off-grid myself, I love helping buyers evaluate the rural side (water, septic, zoning, and outbuildings), and I know the in-town options just as well.
