About Priya
I’ve never been good at doing just one thing, and it turns out that’s exactly what makes me good at this.
I’ve worn a lot of hats: field researcher, radio host, off-grid farmer, educator, marketer. Underneath all of them it has always been the same job, understand something complex, then help real people feel confident about it.
If we grabbed a coffee, you’d figure me out pretty quickly: relentlessly curious, happiest around people, and completely unable to stop teaching. I will break something down until it finally clicks for you.
That thread runs through every chapter of my life. I’ve tracked endangered parrots as a field researcher on the island of Mauritius, served on the board of a parrot rescue, hosted my own radio shows, and run an off-grid farm. These days I still teach in the College of Agriculture at Chico State, consult on digital marketing, and sell real estate, because I’ve never managed to do just one thing, and I’ve stopped apologizing for it. Wildly different worlds, but under all of them the same work: pay close attention, understand how the whole system actually functions, and explain it clearly to the people counting on me.
Look closely and it was all quietly preparing me for this. Field research taught me to notice the one detail everyone else walks right past. Radio and marketing taught me how to tell a true story so it actually lands, and, not for nothing, how to make a home get noticed. Teaching gave me patience and plain language. The farm taught me what land, water, and a whole way of life are really worth. When you’re making one of the biggest decisions of your life, that’s exactly the mix you want sitting on your side of the table.
As for how we landed here: my husband Michael is a nurse, and a job at Enloe is what first brought us to Chico. We figured we’d stay a couple of years. Nearly a decade later we’re still here and completely in love with this place. When our little ones came along, we traded the off-grid life for town, and Chico became home for good.
Truthfully, I’m a people person at heart. For a while I was managing nonprofits remotely, in public infrastructure and regenerative agriculture, and as much as I believed in the work, I could feel that part of me quietly going unused. Real estate brought it all back: my love of people, my need to actually help someone, and the educator in me who lights up explaining how things work. It’s the best of every world I’ve lived in so far. (And all those late nights browsing Zillow just for fun? It turns out that was good practice.)
The thread through all of it has always been people: understanding them, teaching them, and fighting for what matters to them. Real estate is simply where that finally has a name.
So that’s what you get from me: someone who shows up prepared, explains every step, and stays in your corner from the very first conversation long after the keys change hands.
Everything I do, I do for my family. That’s Michael (we’ve been together since high school, 17 years and counting), our two toddlers, and a genuine menagerie: Koda, our cattle dog; Rayna, a retired Karakachan livestock guardian; Alfie, our Scottish Fold rescue cat; Baby Bird, a Meyer’s parrot we rescued more than 20 years ago (yes, she came with the name); and Loki, our leopard gecko.
I’m a devoted foodie and an unapologetic chocoholic, I know my way around a wine tasting, and I will take any excuse for a cappuccino or an iced latte and a good treat. Being under the redwoods or near the water makes my whole soul happy, and I love to travel, up into the Sierras, out to the coast, and especially abroad, for the food, the culture, and the people you meet along the way. Most of all, I love getting to rediscover the world through the wonder in my toddlers’ eyes.
This is my community. These are my people. And this is the work I’m meant to do.
