Your Butte County Home Maintenance Calendar

I’ll send you one reminder a month, timed to our seasons here in the North State, like clearing the gutters before the first rain, getting the AC serviced before the heat, and creating defensible space before fire season. Each one comes with a short checklist, and if you’d rather hire something out, I’m always happy to point you to someone I trust. It takes about ten seconds to add, and after that it updates on its own.

The Calendar

Choose how you’d like to get your reminders below. You only have to set it up once, and after that each new reminder shows up on its own.

This one is easiest to set up on a computer, and once it is added it shows up on your phone too. Just turn on notifications for the calendar in your Google settings so the alerts come through.

Add to Outlook

Sign in to Outlook on the web, then confirm when it asks you to add the calendar.

Would you rather just grab a one-time copy? You can download the calendar file, though keep in mind it won’t update when I add or change anything.

Add-on

Have acreage, a well, or animals?

If you’ve got acreage, add the Homestead Maintenance Calendar too. It covers the things that come with rural property, like testing the well, keeping up the septic, filling propane, running the generator, walking the fence lines, and getting the hay barn and equipment ready, all timed for life out here.

Questions people actually ask

Is Priya’s Home Maintenance Calendar free?

Yes, it is completely free, and you do not have to sign up for anything. You subscribe once, and the monthly reminders show up in whatever calendar app you already use.

Does the calendar update automatically?

Yes. Because it is a live subscription, your calendar refreshes on its own whenever I update a task or add a note, usually within a day. A downloaded copy is just a one-time snapshot, so it will not update.

How do I add the calendar to my iPhone?

On an iPhone or Mac, tap “Add to iPhone / Apple Calendar,” and then tap Subscribe when it asks. Leave “Remove Alerts” turned off so you still get the 9 a.m. reminders.

How do I add it to Google Calendar?

Tap “Add to Google Calendar,” which is easiest on a computer, and confirm. Once it is added, it shows up on your phone too. Google sometimes hides alerts from subscribed calendars, so turn on notifications for this calendar in your Google settings.

What is the Homestead add-on?

The Homestead Maintenance Calendar is a separate calendar I put together for rural and acreage properties in Butte County. It adds well testing, septic, propane, generators, fencing, hay storage, and equipment on top of the regular home reminders, and you subscribe to it the same way.

When are the reminders scheduled?

Each home reminder lands on the first Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. with its checklist attached, and the homestead reminders land on the second Saturday. I have timed everything to our Butte County seasons, like clearing gutters before the first rain and defensible space before fire season.

Who is this calendar for?

It is for anyone who owns a home in Chico, Paradise, Oroville, or anywhere across Butte County and wants a simple, month-by-month rhythm for keeping it up, whether you just bought your first place or have owned it for years.
